Final Affairs article

The first Final Affairs event sponsored by the Chippewa Valley CARE Coalition and the Aging & Disability Resource Center of Eau Claire County occurred on April 16, 2009 at the First Lutheran Church in Eau Claire. Over 70 people attended to hear speakers who are experts in their field talk about how to get your affairs in order before something should happen to you. These experts covered topics from palliative care and hospice to funeral planning to "Who gets Grandma's Yellow Pie Plate". There was great audience participation leading to good questions and wonderful sharing of information and ideas. The feedback we received indicated that the time spent at the event was very worthwhile and many would recommend it to others. Due to the overwhelming response from the public, we are planning another Final Affairs event in October 2009. Details of the official date and location will be announced this summer.
